Union Pacific Omaha Diesel Shop
Notice: pictures at right are very slow loading, another website issue we need to resolve.
This building was erected in early 1900's and was used to build and service steam locomotives by the Union Pacific Railroad. It also serviced early diesels locomotives. The later was updated to serviced modern Diesels and Gas Turbines, building was a drive thru facility having pits and service platforms.
We manufacture both versions in kit form or built model. The early version was in brick with raise vents at it's roof peak and 18 sky light on roof. Windows where wood frame, it Union Pacific Harold with wings on front and back. 15 of these where made we have only 4 left.
Late version building was finished in yellow, the roof vent and sky lights where remove. Windows was a mixed bag of wood, glass block and some plug with metal siding. Only the UP Harold was used as signage in it later days. These kits will be built this winter, only 12-15 kits. Once these are built doubtful if we run them again.
The kit construction will be of cast urethane wall each one piece reinforced with 1/2" aluminum angle on top edge, base CNC cut with floor pits and slots for code 83 atlas rail. Laser cut wood windows with glaze, plastic roof trusses, roof from styrene and other details to make a complete kit. Complete assemble model with many pics and clear instructions.
